One Last Order: Netflix’s New Documentary Celebrates a Drive-Through Worker’s 37 Years of Kindness

Not every extraordinary story needs a grand setting or larger-than-life characters. Sometimes, it begins at a drive-through window, with someone remembering your order and making an ordinary day feel a little warmer. Netflix’s upcoming documentary short, One Last Order, celebrates precisely that kind of connection.

Directed by Lauren DeFilippo and Sam Soko, the film follows Sighle Williams, a beloved worker at Mac’s Drive-Thru in Gainesville, Florida, as she prepares to retire after 37 years.

What makes her final shift special?

– A familiar face: Williams became a cherished part of her community, remembering customers and their orders over nearly four decades.

– An unexpected farewell: Expecting a quiet final day, she instead discovers that the restaurant owner has decided to give her every dollar earned during that day’s business.

– A community celebration: Her final shift turns into a heartfelt send-off, reflecting the relationships she built through countless everyday interactions.

The documentary has already enjoyed an award-winning festival run, including recognition at the 2026 Aspen Shortsfest, where it won Best Documentary and the Audience Award. It also received audience recognition at the Miami Film Festival and Nantucket Film Festival.

With One Last Order, DeFilippo and Soko turn their attention to the people who quietly make everyday places meaningful. The short documentary arrives on Netflix on November 24, offering viewers a reminder that kindness can leave a lasting impression long after the last order has been served.
